RAPID® Vision

RAPID® Vision is a micro-optic security thread that represents a breakthrough in banknote security by introducing synchronized multicolor movement effects. The feature is 4-6 millimeters wide and integrated into the banknote substrate as a windowed security thread.

The defining innovation of RAPID® Vision is its ability to exhibit real-time color effects that are perfectly synchronized with movement, micron by micron. This combination of high-contrast colors moving in fluid, fast patterns creates visual effects that have never been achieved before in banknote security. The colors remain stable at every viewing angle while the graphics move with high speed and minimal tilting required.

The feature is designed to accelerate public authentication. Research by Secure Perception Research has validated that RAPID® Vision reduces authentication time by 160 milliseconds compared to previous technologies - a significant improvement when the entire authentication process (find, recognize, check, decide) must be completed in under 2 seconds.

RAPID® Vision offers full customization of color, movement, and graphic combinations to meet central bank requirements. The thread is highly durable and virtually impervious to soiling, maintaining its security properties throughout the entire lifetime of the banknote. An optional Detect version incorporates invisible IR-absorbing material for machine-readable authentication, making it compatible with high-speed currency sorters and point-of-sale validators.

The feature made its debut on Kazakhstan's 5,000 tenge banknote in December 2022 as part of the Saka series. The technology is designed and manufactured using exclusive, proprietary tools and techniques, with no commercial equivalents available to potential counterfeiters.
